(+/-) #1
Hi Sharon:
Nice job on the microscopy! Here's what I can identify easily:
#1 & 6 -- not sure about that orange ball, but it is neat!
#2 -- some kind of cyclopoid copepod
#3-5 -- possibly a centric diatom (/Coscinodiscus/ sp.)
#7 -- possibly the same, but a dead cell
microbe #8 -- a pennate diatom (/Pleurosigma/ sp.)
#8 -- possibly a foraminiferan (the snail-like organism)
#9-10 -- look like chains of diatoms (/Leptocylindrus/ sp.)
#11-13 -- not sure, but 11 and 13 look like a green alga
#14 -- looks like a blue fiber
#15 -- looks like a chain of /Leptocylindrus/ sp.
#16 -- /Asterionella/ sp., a diatom chain
#17 -- /Odontella/ sp. a diatom
#18 -- has a chain of /Melosira/ sp or /Skeletonema/ sp. (possibly) and
several /Navicula/ sp. (possibly)
The first 2 "worm" video clips are nematodes.
Video clips 3 and 4 have chains of diatoms, and possibly a couple of
rotifers twirling around.
Video clips 5 through 9 are of /Pleurosigma/ sp. cruising around.
That's the best I can do right now, particularly since there's no scale
to get a feeling for size!
Hope this information is useful.
